Cattery Update

(Dec. 2024)

It is with much deliberation that I have decided to officially retire my Scottish Fold breeding program. This means I will no longer have Scottish Fold kittens available in the future.

Over the past 24 years, it has been both a privilege and a joy to work with this amazing breed. They have brought immeasurable happiness to our lives and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Please feel free to keep sending updates and pictures of your kittens—I always enjoy seeing how they are doing! And as always, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if there’s anything else I can assist you with.

Warm regards,
Suzanne Henne DVM

Have you seen our

British Shorthair Kittens?

Because of its easy-going nature and intelligence, the British Shorthair has become a favorite of animal trainers, and in recent years many examples of these cats have appeared in Hollywood films and television commercials. The British Shorthair is easy to groom and is a playful but no-nonsense cat. It tends to be reserved, in fact typically British by nature, but once it becomes a part of the family it is a devoted cat and undemanding companion.

Hi Mayle & Susie,

I just wanted to send some updated photos of Pickles (kitten 4550)! He’s about 6 months old now and he’s growing very fast into a very social and playful kitty!

Happy New Year!

Wiley

Hi Suzanne

We picked up Wiley our unfolded Scottish Fold from your husband when we drove to Arkansas in 2010.

She will be 15 years old this year if she hangs in there. She had been diagnosed with kidney issues. Our holistic doctor has extended her life almost two years with chia seeds and a powder that we provide in her meals.

She continues to be a spoiled cat that we both love.

Hoping that this email gets to you.

Azucena, Wiley and Steve G.

Hi Suzanne,

Our loved Wiley passed away yesterday at the veterinary clinic with us present. She started to have problems jumping up and down. Her little legs were losing control to hold her up. On Thursday night she had very few bites of her food. I stayed near her that night.

On Friday morning, I carried her upstairs because she had no mobility. She would not eat. My husband carried her over to the potty box where she laid. Luckily, she did pee. I held her until we could contact her doctor. We could not bear to see her immobilized. She was not eating nor moving. Yet she still purred.

We made the judgment call to put her to sleep. We stayed by her side until the end. We repeatedly told her how much we loved her. She had been our family for close to 15 years. We will miss her dearly.
